Show notes:
In the first segment, the panelists will discuss the Italian Supreme Court’s recent decision denying tax-exempt status to Breccia di Roma, an evangelical church in Rome, due to its lack of traditional “religious markers” associated with Catholic churches. This case highlights the challenges faced by non-Catholic Christian communities in Italy and raises questions about religious liberty protections in countries with strong religious traditions.
In the second segment, we’ll examine Loe v. Jett, where Minnesota’s recent change to the Post Secondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) program excludes religious colleges that require a statement of faith. This amendment impacts students who want to attend schools aligned with their faith while receiving tuition-free college credits, raising significant concerns about religious freedom and equal access to education.
