ABOUT ME
Orlan Johnson is the Director of Public Affairs and Religious Liberty for the North American Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Prior to Mr. Johnson’s appointment to serve at the NAD, he was a partner at Saul Ewing, and co-chair of the Securities Transactions & Regulations Practice Group. Mr. Johnson was Of counsel at Milbank, where he served as co-head of its regulatory practice in the Washington, D.C. office and worked on federal and state disclosure issues for corporate governance issues related to executive leadership positions at energy and other regulated industry companies. He also served as Attorney & Branch Chief at United States Securities & Exchange Commission.
Mr. Johnson graduated from Andrews University with Honors with a Degree in Economics and a Minor in French and is a graduate of Howard University School of Law where he was a 2-year member of the Howard Law Journal and was a full-time and Adjunct Professor at Howard University School of Law for over 15 years. In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Johnson was appointed by President Obama and confirmed by the U.S. Senate to be the Chairman of the Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC).
