Show notes:

In the first segment, our panelists discuss National Religious Freedom Day. Since 1993, the President of the United States has designated January 16 National Religious Freedom Day, which is observed on January 16 to promote the message of peace and acceptance. The day intended is to highlight the belief that everyone has a right to practice and share their faith as their conscience dictates.

In the second segment of the show, we discuss Court Room Invocations. Judge Wayne Mack is a Justice of the Peace for Montgomery County, Texas. Several years ago, Judge Mack implemented a volunteer chaplaincy program for religious leaders of all faiths. To honor the volunteer chaplains’ work and to solemnize his courtroom proceedings, Judge Mack invites volunteer chaplains to open his court proceedings with a short invocation. Panelists discuss Judge Mack’s chaplaincy program in light of the Establishment Clause.

In the third segment, our focus turns to Dobbs v Jackson Women’s Health Organization. During the Supreme Court arguments in December, most of the justices in the court’s new conservative majority seemed to question the constitutional foundation of the nearly 50-year-old precedent that guarantees the right to abortion nationwide.
