In the first segment, we tackle the growing debate over religion in public schools. Our panelists explore whether the influx of religious policies in classrooms is a genuine push for faith-based literacy or an attempt to Christianize public education. With 29 states proposing 91 bills promoting religion in schools, is the separation of church and state at risk? Or is this a necessary counter to secularism?
In the second segment, we discuss Lasche v. New Jersey Department of Children and Families, a case highlighting potential religious discrimination against foster parents. The Lasches, a devout Christian couple, faced hostility from the state due to their faith after fostering two children. Baker and Mosely debate what this case means for religious families in the foster system and whether faith-based values are being treated as a disqualifier.
