Show notes:

In the first segment, our panelists discuss the impact of evangelicals on midterm elections. Leaders and groups, both longstanding and new, are mobilizing their efforts to shape the political landscape. Our panelists explore the strategies and impact of organizations like Faith & Freedom Coalition and Turning Point Faith as they rally support for candidates. We discuss how these groups navigate the line between activism and endorsements while aiming to sway voters.

In the second segment of the show, our focus turns to the case Franciscan Alliance v. Becerra. A federal mandate issued in 2016 as part of Obamacare requires doctors and hospitals across the country to perform gender-transition procedures on any patient, including a child, even if the procedure violates the doctor’s conscience and could harm the patient. In 2021, a federal district court permanently blocked the transgender mandate. And on August 26, 2022, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals unanimously affirmed—ruling that doctors must be free to practice medicine without being forced to perform controversial gender-transition procedures in violation of their conscience and experienced professional judgment.

In the final segment, Tell Me Something I Don’t Know, each panelist quickly shares interesting pieces of information related to religious freedom.
